Iris chrysographes ‘Kilmurry Nursery’
A seedling from a very good black form of chrysographes that we grew in the nursery.Chrysographes is Greek for ‘streaked with yellow’ .Kilmurry Black has no yellow markings and is jet black in bud and opens to a velvety black purple in full flower in June-July.The flower stems reaches 25-30cm in height and grows best in full sun to dappled shade in a fertile soil which doesnt dry out in the growing season.
Hi,
Just home from Bloom 2013 and must say. Your Iris Chrysographes ‘Black Beauty’ was absolutely stunning! Stand out plant of the show by a country mile!
Look forward to visiting your nursery in the future!
