Digitalis grandiflora

9.00

A graceful, long-flowering foxglove species producing soft buttery-yellow, tubular blooms with subtle brown speckling inside the throat. Unlike the more familiar biennial foxgloves, this is a reliable perennial that returns year after year, forming neat clumps of upright, elegant flower spikes.

Plant Details:
• Common name: Yellow foxglove
• Position: Partial shade to full sun (best in light shade)
• Height & spread: Approx. 60–90cm x 40–50cm
• Flowering: May – July (often with sporadic later blooms)
• Soil: Moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil; tolerates a range of garden conditions if not waterlogged
• Hardiness: Fully hardy in Ireland
• Pollinator friendly: ✔ Yes (excellent for bees)
• Something to note: A dependable perennial foxglove that naturalises gently without being invasive; great for woodland edges, cottage gardens, and mixed herbaceous borders where a softer yellow tone is desired
